A New Era in Real Estate (1973)

RE/MAX’s journey began in 1973 with a revolutionary concept that transformed the real estate industry – “real estate maximums,” later known as RE/MAX. Pioneers Dave and Gail Liniger recognized the importance of empowering agents, so they established a system that rewarded top performers with a higher share of commissions. RE/MAX Takes Flight in Europe (1994 - 1995)

After successfully introducing RE/MAX to Canada, visionary leaders Frank Polzler and Walter Schneider boldly embarked on a transatlantic mission to bring the brand’s revolutionary concept to Europe. Their vision took flight, with the iconic red, white, and blue balloon symbolizing the dawn of a new era in real estate across Spain, Israel, and Italy – and laid the foundation for RE/MAX’s widespread adoption across the continent.

Embracing New Horizons (1999 - 2008)

RE/MAX’s European network expanded rapidly, welcoming a diverse range of countries including Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom

RE/MAX Europe Expands to 40 Countries (2011 - 2019)

RE/MAX continued its expansion across Europe, welcoming Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2011 and extending its reach to Cyprus, Norway, and Montenegro in 2016. The network’s presence soon expanded to 40 countries, marking a decade of remarkable growth and showcasing RE/MAX’s commitment to empowering customers and entrepreneurs.

A Landmark Year for Europe (2020)

Belgium’s incorporation into the RE/MAX network in 2020 played a pivotal role in solidifying the brand’s position across Europe. The same year, the network surpassed 29,000 agents, a historic achievement symbolizing RE/MAX Europe’s continued excellence and impact in the real estate industry.
